The Denver Post's review of Stream / by hadley hooper

Artist Stephen Batura's painterly exploration of historical photography has been hard to miss. He's been re-creating century-old images for a good 15 years now and showing the works — often big — in a big way. His current exhibit, "Stream," at Ironton Studios & Gallery takes things even further. Batura has created a 17-panel work that stretches 110 feet along the gallery walls. The piece collects and reinterprets data from 17 old photos of various Colorado locations. Batura, who usually shows at Robischon Gallery, made it especially for Ironton's expansive space at the request of its gallery director, Jill Hadley HooperMore at the Denver Post
