November 3rd through December 2nd Eudora's Belles New Paintings Opening Reception on Friday, November 3rd, 2006, 6-10pm Ironton will be open on First Friday, December 1st, from 7 to 9pm Ironton Studios is pleased to host Patricia ‘Murph’ Murphy in the gallery for the month of November. The show is an exhibition of her new paintings, “Eudora’s Belles”, a study of strong southern women. Eudora Welty is one of the main influences in this body of work, along with other southern writers from the first half of the 20th Century. This group of portraits, comprised of nine large paintings, captures a moment in time and a sense of compassion and respect for women of a certain age. Patricia Murphy is a conceptual painter who combines folk art sensibilities with contemporary references to communicate the dignified personalities represented in this work. Join us for the Opening reception Friday November 3rd, 6-10 pm. The show opens Nov 3rd and runs thru December 2nd, 2006. Ironton Studios is open Monday through Friday from 10 to 4, and Saturdays from 12 to 4.
