"Reflections"
Sculpture, Monotypes, and Paintings by
John Ferguson and Phyllis Rider

“Reflections” marks the fourth collaboration between Colorado artists John Ferguson and Phyllis Rider. Ironton Gallery hosts the pair April though May. While taking different approaches to “Reflections” their works complement each other providing an additional reflection from two-dimensional to three-dimensional and back.

Ferguson’s reflections are based on universal adolescent experiences dealing with adventure and exploration. The works, primarily in steel, are organic and earthy. We are asked to remember our younger days of innocence and adventure.

For Ms. Rider, reflections are about abstract thoughts of what she’s experienced and visual impressions that have taken on a life of their own. A recent trip to China as well as everyday shadows have inspired her paintings and monotypes for this show.

John's work can be viewed on his website at johntferguson.com.

Ironton Studios is open Monday through Friday from 10 to 4, and Saturdays from 12 to 4.
