Dual Nature contains two bodies of work from local artists Sharon M Bankert & Michelle Barnes. The artwork exhibited in the show is an exploration of the meaning and relevance of the “Seven Deadly Sins/Seven Heavenly Virtues” in today’s society; these artists are posing questions as to what makes someone or something good or evil. When does a “virtue” cross over to a “sin” & vice versa?

Sharon M Bankert received her BFA in studio arts from The University of Colorado at Denver in May 2000. Specializing in photography, Sharon’s work has primarily been of a conceptual nature. Recently she has been experimenting with a combination of materials to better achieve her artistic vision. In January of 2005 she completed her first installation.

Michelle Barnes has been illustrating books, magazines and newspapers for over 25 years. She has taught in New York, Paris, Los Angeles and Denver. Michelle is the recipient of many awards including a silver medal from the Society of Illustrators N.Y. In 2004 she was included in “The Art of The New York Times”, 50 artists from the last 50 years.
